The Opportunity

The Compensation Consultant is responsible for providing a broad range of compensation consulting services for The Survey Group (TSG) clients. The Compensation Consultant is a client-facing role and will develop recommendations and manage compensation projects while working closely with team members and clients to serve as a resource in compensation regulations and best practices. In addition, the Compensation Consultant will gain an understanding of the survey administration process and be responsible for leading custom pay and benefit survey projects.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):

  • Consult with clients on the development and implementation of compensation programs in areas such as base pay, long and short-term incentives, performance review plans and salary structures that align with client’s business strategies and drive desired employee behavior.
  • Conduct job analysis and market pricing to determine appropriate salary level according to compensation guidelines and policy formulated by the client.

  • Conduct custom pay and benefit surveys to assist clients in gaining insight into market practices.

  • Provide compensation consulting services during “peak season” for TSG specialty service lines including survey administration and prevailing wage.

  • Develop and implement salary administration guidelines that will yield efficiencies for clients.

  • Model financial impact of compensation plans for clients to support compensation recommendations.

  • Prepare reports including exhibits and summaries and present such to clients and their leadership teams.

  • Participate in marketing initiatives that promote compensation services to prospective clients including defining scope and writing proposals to gain business.

  • Serve as a resource on compensation laws and regulations and stay informed of changes; contribute to thought leadership and the development of TSG’s viewpoints on compensation and total rewards topics.

  • Develop and maintain excellent relationships with clients.

  • Participate as an active member of the OneDigital | TSG Compensation team helping to identify best practices, synergies, and integration opportunities when appropriate.

  • Keep leadership informed of trends, needs and potential issues related to the compensation business line.

  • Minimum Qualifications:

    Qualifications, Skills and Requirements:

  • Bachelors’ Degree and 3-5 years of progressively responsible compensation analyst experience.

  • Strong experience in the design and implementation of base salary and variable pay programs required.

  • Proficiency working with both federal and state compensation laws and regulations.

  • Strong data analysis skills and attention to detail.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Strong presentation design and delivery skills with ability to summarize and present findings to leadership groups and key stakeholders.

  • Proficient knowledge of labor markets, pay survey sources and data, and position matching/leveling.

  • Excellent project management and organizational skills; must have ability to manage multiple projects and demands simultaneously and adapt to changing client needs.

  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office, Excel, Word and Access.
